Giuliani plans swing through Iowa to stump for GOP candidates as some wonder if trip is part of '08 presidential bid

WASHINGTON -- Rudy Giuliani is dropping into Iowa for a GOP fundraiser May 1 -- just two weeks after his pal and potential 2008 presidential rival Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) makes a similar pilgrimage to the crucial caucus state.

It's Giuliani's first major political appearance in months: His relative inactivity had led to speculation that he's leaning against making a presidential bid despite polls showing him atop the 2008 Republican heap.

The former New York City mayor, who stumped for the Bush-Cheney ticket in Iowa two years ago, hasn't ruled out a run for the White House.

"I don't think it is mere coincidence that the mayor and Sen. McCain will almost be crossing paths in Iowa," said GOP consultant Nelson Warfield, who was former Sen. Robert Dole's spokesman during the 1996 presidential campaign.

Rudy G has made more money off of 9/11 then anyone except Der Monkey.
People forget, just like the chimp, before 9/11 New Yorkers weren't exactly thrilled with the Mayor of New York.

Then 9/11 happened and suddenly he was Americas Newest Hero.

Just because someone does their job when a crisis occurs, suddenly they become super heroes.

He ain't going anywhere.

He's had too many wives, and he's too much like a "liberal" being pro-choice and all.
That won't sell in the mega-churches, where all is good, and pure, and Jesus smiles on one and all.
Plus, he's "eye-tal-yan" and that means he's not "Godly Bush" and they ain't going to vote for that.

Some examples of Rudy Dudy's style for those who don't know:

When Patrick Dorismond, a straight arrow security guard, was gunned down by NY's finest for not being interested in buying drugs from an undercover cop, Rudy quickly released a 'sealed' juvenile record that showed a minor arrest in Dorismond's past as a way of covering for the cops. http://www.mapinc.org/drugnews/v00/n374/a02.html

Later, when asked about reports that his disceased dad used to be a leg-breaker for the mob, he said, in his trademark snarl, something to the effect that "A man's past should be buried when he dies".

Other episodes include certifying the human rights situation in Haiti under (?) baby doc as just hunky dorry, engineering a 'stop and toss' policy in his police department that was epitomized in the murder of Amidou Dialo, and prominently attending an essentially racist police riot complete with watermelons during his compaign against David Dinkins. Also famous for breaking law after law, being found to be in violation by the courts, and continuing to break the same law.

I hope you're right he ain't got a chance, because a Rudy US would make the current wackos look like pansies.

There's enough crap on you to bury you in faster than you can say "9/11." For instance, remember when you announced you weren't going to release any 9/11 funds donated to the city until after March 2002? Only the resulting public outcry made you change your mind. Were you planning to skim the interest?

on the one hand, there are the multitudinous Rudy negatives. On the other hand, there is the triumphant Rudy of the Holy 9-11 Aftermath. And bringing up the rear--Rudy's ego. Will he? Won't he? Gee, I wonder who will sponsor that one.

& the result of that is going to smack him down---and the public should hear about it even if he doesn't run. But if he does, he'll be out on this issue alone because all those deaths and health problems among the living could easily have been avoided.
