She picked up Van Der Sloot in a bar, they went down to the beach, got busy, he left, she went for a swim & was swept out to sea. It was most probably a tragic accident that happened to a young girl who didn't know how dangerous swimming alone at night can be, or was too drunk to care.

Aruba is an island! How long can a body go undiscovered there? C'mon, if you wanted to get rid of a body, wouldn't you throw it in the ocean where no one would ever find it? I feel terrible for her family & hope they can find peace, but I doubt she'll ever be found.

I posted a link to a story about that yesterday. There was something in it about her being buried twice, and cops are looking at a location that a witness has told them about. It'll be part of the 48 Hours report, they say.

they could end up getting swept out to sea, which the only sensible explanation I've heard so far. The suspects just don't strike me as being bright enough to figure out where to bury a body where it can't be found on a moment's notice. As for their changing their stories, that could simply be the result of overzealous interrogation techniques.

Aruban authorities reportedly have a new witness in the disappearance of Alabama teen Natalee Holloway and plan to conduct another search for her body on the Dutch Caribbean island.

The witness provided specific information that prompted investigators to organize a search in sand dunes along the northern tip of the island, said Gerald Dompig, Aruba's deputy chief of police, in an interview with CBS television's "48 Hours Mystery" program.

Dompig said investigators will use cadaver dogs to search near a lighthouse and believe that someone took steps to carefully hide Holloway's body -- perhaps burying her twice.

The witness "wanted to talk about the fact that he knew more about the whereabouts of Natalee," Dompig said, according to a partial transcript of the interview, scheduled for broadcast on Saturday.

34. I WAS IN ARUBA 3 WEEKS AGO AND HEARD ONE CONSISTANT STORY

a friend who was with my hubby and i asked everyone we came into contact with ..cab drivers , waiters hotel people etc..and we heard the same story over and over..

this girl disappeared in mexico on a vacation on another occasion for two weeks..just disappeared..she did not want to go home

we also heard over and over again that when her mother came down to look for her supposedly..she was nightly late into the night gambling in the casino in the Wyndam hotel..every night she was there ..till very late into the night..

now call me silly..but if my child was missing..gambling would be the last thing on my mind..the absolute last thing on my mind..

and we heard this from many Arubians..and all of the Arubians who we spoke to said they were praying for her safety and safe return...
mostly women there were worried she might be dad..but not many men felt that..most of the men felt she ran off to another island with a guy..

now i have no opinion on all of this..i am just relaying what we heard over and over..

Unfortunately, the statistics are against her being found alive at this point.
Of course we don't know what happened. But if this young woman was alive, with as much publicity as her story has, someone would have come forward by now.
That story just doesn't pass the smell test.

I saw that Van Sloot on Dateline or one of those programs and he was all over the map with his story. Van Sloot was caught in numerous lies and even admitted that he lied about stuff. I think he killed her during rough sex and dumped the body in the ocean around where the sharks feed. JMO

I probably wouldn't be nearly as nasty if it wasn't for the colossally ridiculous on going media circus this story has become. As well as the MSM whores turning it into a self promoting personal tragedy story of the week, who continue to feed off this girls dead body for their own aggrandizement.

I feel for the parents, however, in their grief they were either willingly, wantonly or cajoled into going along with the press and media hype thus distracted from the from their child's death and making into something that is now obscene and disgusting.

Everyone wants answers to what happens to their children, but like the old saying goes, usually the simplest solution is the answer.

The question that needs to be asked now is and is not I'm sure no one will actually ask it: why did this happen? Why did the girl drink to excess why did she do drugs? How did she get to that point in her short life? Ahhh but those questions are usually swept under the rug until another kid dies because of binge drinking and drug problems and becomes the media whores story of the week.

But you know, there is a war on drugs in this country and the death of a blond blue eyed girl in a foreign land is just one more casualty of that war. And makes good news. :sarcasm:

If this had been a black or hispanic girl would this have generated as much attention? hell no. And we all know that for a fact.

How many kids in this nation are killed each year or die each year from drug overdoses/related crimes and drinking related fatality's and are never ever mentioned? A lot. Why does this one get more attention than any of those? Because two things were involved: The parents had money and were willing to take the story nationally. However, were they actually prepared to find out that real answers to their daughters death? Or were they trying to deny the undeniable? Their daughter drank, liked to party and took drugs.

Complex questions that need to be asked and never will. Only the parents know for sure. And I bet they aren't saying.

.. information of any use to anybody. If she died of alcohol and/or drugs, where is the body? If she did, the act of burying her would in and of itself be a crime. And if she were with somebody and died that way, why wouldn't they just call the police? An autopsy would easily prove the cause of death.

We're never going to know what happened, and frankly I feel bad for her and her parents but people die every day.
