Bangladeshi Mosque in Michigan Vandalized

NEW YORK – Several unidentified teenagers reportedly vandalized a mosque in Hamtramck, Michigan last week. Many consider this as another racial bias act against Muslims.

According to a report, local Bangladeshis in Hamtramck alleged that several teenagers threw bricks and shoes at the mosque.

Abdul Mutallib, an Islamic devotee who goes to the mosque often, said that a group of 15- and 16-year-old teenagers threw their shoes at the mosque, and mocked fellow devotees who visited the mosque.

...

Bangladeshi Muslims said that aside from the mocking, some people in the locality also started harassing the devotees of the mosque. A few days before the vandalism incident, a Bangladeshi imam was attacked.

3. Good grief ...
When the churches in the south were being burned several weeks ago, there were some here who said the culprits were members of other churches, or racists, or ... or anyone other than those who usually do these kinds of things, namely brainless teenagers wanting to destroy things for the fun of it. Maybe this is an example of why some people say they never venture outside The Lounge.

4. Could this be Muslim on Muslim violence, as well as something else?
The brick-throwers probably are bigots. Of course, after the "church burning pranks" :eyes:, who knows. However, throwing shoes at something is a Middle Eastern custom. The only time someone here throws shoes is a mom whacking her kid upside the head.

5. I didn't notice that shoes were thrown ...
so, yes, it's possible that they were Muslim youth. Was this near Detroit? I've read that Detroit has a large Muslim population. Regardless of who is doing the harassing the police need to stop this immediately before it starts getting out of hand.
