"Lieberman Joust Fuels Bloggers, Spurs Donations To Foe"
FRONT PAGE HARTFORD COURANT ....

Lieberman Joust Fuels Bloggers, Spurs Donations To Foe
March 24, 2006
By MARK PAZNIOKAS, Courant Staff Writer Sen. Joseph I. Lieberman dropped his usual air of imperturbability during a drive-time radio appearance Wednesday, snapping at the host over a column criticizing the senator and backing his challenger, Ned Lamont.

Six years ago, when Lieberman last ran for re-election, his comments would have had the shelf life of an ice-cream cone. But on Thursday, they only grew louder, amplified by Internet bloggers.

Wow," said one hostile review on a widely read liberal site, The Daily Kos (www.dailykos.com). "Two weeks into his contested primary, and Joe `How Dare Anyone Challenge Me' Lieberman literally lost it on the air."

Whether the avuncular senator truly "lost it" is debatable, but Lieberman's jousting with radio host and columnist Colin McEnroe undeniably was high-test fuel for the blogs - and, apparently, money in the bank for Lamont.

5. Same story, same link...
I guess the rules state that a poster can't post the same story in two forums, but there is nothing about two different people doing it. It just seems to me that it fractures the discussion when it is posted twice at the virtually the same time. I don't want to have to follow two threads in two forums about one identical article. It seems to be not only a waste of bandwidth, but it does a disservice to DUers who might miss parts of the discussion because they're involved in one thread but not the other.

7. Sorry, "News" to me....
I usually, only read Breaking News on DU, which receives much higher traffic. You may want to consider this on your future posts.

8. I think we're supposed to consider whether it's "breaking news."
I try to post to appropriate forums. This is a news story, but I tend to think of Breaking News as something hot that just happened. This is a story about stuff that happened days ago. It may be important to us, but that hardly fits the definition of "breaking," at least, not the way I learned it in my journalism classes.

I appreciate what you're saying...I almost never post to GD:P because it just seems redundant - this is a freakin' POLITICAL site! If it ain't political, then it's for the Lounge, imo. I was originally going to post the Lamont story in GD, but that didn't seem right, either. But I don't want to just dump stuff in LBN simply because it gets higher traffic.
