No sign of progress in Iraq government talks
BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Facing renewed U.S. pressure, Iraqi leaders held more negotiations on forming a government on Sunday but there were no visible signs of progress as sectarian violence left more bodies on the streets of Baghdad.

`SNIP~\
Top leaders met at Iraqi President Jalal Talabani's residence for another round of talks on forming a unity government they hope will avert sectarian civil war.

"In practical terms, there is not a complete agreement nor is there total disagreement," secular Shi'ite politician Wael Abdul Latif told reporters.

1. Headline is misleading.
Here, I edited it.

3. Haven't the top leaders of all the sects met a number of times on a
bunch of issues? Has it ever come to anything? (I'll answer my own question now.) No it hasn't. They can meet until hell freezes over, the cows come home, and Dick Cheney apologizes to that old geeze Wittingdon for shooting him, won't matter. Won't matter one damn bit.

The bush** admin needs to get it through their frigging heads that they blew it. They were warned that old grudges and religious differences would take over. They were warned of the violence that would occur once that happened. Did that matter to them? Hell no. But now they're so damn desperate to put that genie back in the bottle they keep getting the same cast of characters together and they keep getting the same result. More bodies with either a bullet to the brain or no head.

And just think, the Kurds haven't even tried to secede from the country yet and form their own oil rich nation. We still have that to look forward to.
