Raw Story: Rove cooperating in CIA leak inquiry
Edited on Mon Mar-27-06 10:24 PM by Stevendsmith
Karl Rove, Deputy White House Chief of Staff and special adviser to President George W. Bush, has recently been providing information to special prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald in the ongoing CIA leak investigation, sources close to the investigation say.

According to several Pentagon sources close to Rove and others familiar with the inquiry, Bush's senior adviser tipped off Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald to information that led to the recent "discovery" of 250 pages of missing email from the office of Vice President Dick Cheney.

1. LOL!
Sure he is! Karl Rove is "cooperating". After all you people know about Karl Rove, BushCo, and Cheney, do you REALLY believe that these guys are "cooperating" or going after each other? Smirky will pardon Rove and/or Libby should they be tried and convicted. BushCo is not about to suddenly start playing by the rules.

9. Let's try this another way....
...Rove is "cooperating" because he has no other choice.

Does that sound better to you?

If this pans out, many White House people face indictment.
Please let him finger Dick Cheney!

On edit: Kick & Recommend.

3. one of two things....
they decided Cheney should take the fall, and Rove is manipulating that, or Rove is framing someone else...not anyone as major as Cheney/Bush/himself....

but I doubt that Rove is simply cooperating....thats just not evil enough!

4. I don't believe a word of this
no way. Rove isn't that stupid, and this article suffers from the same "nebulous" lack of actual sources that the media uses when "creating" "news"..

Ooooo, SECRET sources from Secret sources.. but not just from Secret Sources, but actual Secret sources from the Pentagon.. this is bad journalism and shouldn't be tolerated from the right OR the Left.

Another breathless unsubstantiated RUMOR disguised as NEWS, said an Official who would only talk under condition of anonymity for fear of his own Safety.

"Another breathless unsubstantiated RUMOR disguised as NEWS"??? Some of you folks really seem to go out of your way to slam Raw Story. When are you going to learn?

10. Seems to me you have to remember where rove's loyalties lie.
He's bush's boy. Or maybe it's the other way around. He "tolerates" cheney because he has to. But he works for george, not dick. His self-interest and power and authority and ability to do such lethal damage comes from bush, not cheney. He was always on bush's team, not cheney's. He's never been in the cheney camp, ever, as far as I can recall.

It sounds as though he might be trying to maneuver and manipulate so that, in effect, he offers Fitzgerald cheney's head to save his own. Besides, as was pointed out farther up the thread, dear Mr. "go fuck yourself" is in some ways HIGHLY dispensable because his numbers are so bad. Everyone knows cheney is NOT popular AT ALL. His popularity is in the tens. In fact, I'd bet that there are some people in the White House at this very moment who think that if they just got rid of cheney everything would be all better. I think rove would HAPPILY screw cheney to save himself, and bush. bush is the only other individual besides himself whom rove would consider saving. Remember, rove once said in an interview that he saw in george, early on, the kind of candidate that only comes around once in a lifetime.

13. Okay
Where is your proof?

Seems more like you are slamming journalism in general by accepting UNKNOWN sources? Sources CLOSE to Rove? Give me a break, no one has that kind of access, in THIS administration?

The "proof" is that computers have "back up capability"? So what.. You don't think the FBI or any other intelligence agency, including those that work with Fitzgerald don't have the ability or power to FIND these files? It was ROVE that gave them away, yeah, that's the ticket.. nothing but sensationalism...

Saying things don't make it TRUE.

12. Rove cooperating?
I'd imagine that if Rove is "cooperating" at all, it's only to pass the buck to someone else. If all else fails, sacrifice a few pawns so you can look like you've done something.

If anyone *really* had the goods on Rove and/or Georgie McCokespoon, I wouldn't be surprised if they were found face-down in a river shortly thereafter.
