Syria's Assad Calls for Better U.S. Ties
In an interview with PBS'"The Charlie Rose Show," Assad also warned that civil war in Iraq would reverberate throughout Central Asia and the Middle East.

"No one in the region wants bad relations with the United States. It is a great power and the most advanced country in the world," Assad said in the interview broadcast Monday, which he gave in English.

Assad indicated he felt that Washington had not given Syria enough credit for sharing intelligence on terrorists. Relations soured when the United States accused Syria of supporting Hezbollah and Palestinian radical groups and allowing militants to cross into Iraq to fight the U.S.-led multinational force there. The United States has placed limited economic sanctions on Syria.

After the assassination of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri in February 2005, the United States recalled its ambassador from Damascus and has repeatedly accused the country of interfering in Lebanon and failing to cooperate with the U.N. investigation into Hariri's killing. Syria denies the charges.

2. And if they claim not to have them, that proves they are hiding them.
And if we invade and don't find them, that proves they shipped them to Iran right before we invaded.

3. Assad calling closer relations with Washington
would seem to many Arabs as a weak leader.

.

.

"most advanced" ??

OH

when it comes to interfering, invading other nations . . .

can't argue with that . .

and "great power"

can't argue with that either

USA

greatest threat to the World's survival IMO

STILL selling their death machines across the globe

USA citizens still have not grasped the idea that the USA is just an "island" to the Illuminati/PNACers to wage global war

6. Umm, no
The us is the only western power that sells arms? France and Russia do not sell weapon systems of any type. We sell to stable nation states, like egypt, israel, south korea.

The soviet arsenal of thousands of thermonuclear weapons is less of a threat than the us arsenal?

Global war on whom?

Iraq? Not to global. There has not been a global war since 1945. When GM starts making tanks we have a global war, until then we have a theater action.

The largest source of megadeath over the last 100 years has been Europe. By a huge margin.
