Mass Exodus Likely At Harris Campaign

By JIM STRATTON
Orlando Sentinel

ORLANDO -- The last of U.S. Rep. Katherine Harris' key staffers appear ready to abandon her campaign for the U.S. Senate in a wave of resignations expected to start this weekend.

Sources close to the campaign said Friday that the defections would touch virtually every level of her operation.

Harris, who is running against Democratic Sen. Bill Nelson, is likely to lose her chief political strategist, her campaign manager, her spokeswoman, her director of field operations and even a traveling aide who helps hand out stickers at campaign appearances.

It is the latest and most dramatic indication so far that her campaign is on the verge of collapse.

"I've never seen staffers go like this," said David Johnson, a Republican pollster and consultant. "It's just imploding."

Calls and e-mails to the campaign were not returned Friday night, but sources said Harris met with staffers earlier in the day to tell them she would be hiring new staff to replace those who had already left.

Existing campaign workers could stay, she said, but they would have to re-commit themselves to the Senate race. She gave them until 5 p.m. Sunday to decide.

13. This really isn't in our best interests. . .
the Florida Republicans may get the opportunity to field a strong candidate in place of the failed Harris. I, for one, will miss her and that delightful way her eyes would tear up and her voice chokes back sobs in November as she delivers her concession speech and vows to return "next time" to run (and lose) again.

14. you're right. it would be best if her campaign imploded in September.
However, her ego is so big that she might actually keep running (which would be great) and if she does drop out, the republican fight for the nomination might be a blood bath.

22. Yes, that was my thought too.
She needs to hang in there, for a lot longer. The race has only just begun! She needs to fill that spot until around September.

And you're right! We're missing out on a BIG event. Her performance will outdo any soap that's currently running (Days of our Lives?). She will put them to shame. This will be fore real. Genuine tears....oh the thought of it. $10 million big ones, down the drain.

And for what? Vanity? Well, they say it doesn't come cheap.

Hang in there little Girl.

At least until May 12--that's the last day they can swap her out.

Let her spend her money, and let the DNC use the cash THEY have for tougher races.

25. Bushco pulls the plug, who are they fooling, these were all Bushco
employees! Harris was never in control of her destiny or her employees, I believe that Bushco would never be publicly disloyal (loyalty being their trademark). But I do believe Bushco put the word out privately that anyone who ever wants to work for the GOP again had better leave. She was just a GOP whore and they are done with her. However, she being the spoiled bitch that she is probably started to believe that she was actually popular and did not realize that they rigged her election as payment for delivering the pResidency to W. I wonder if she is starting feel like a used condom. They know she will be a problem if they let her wait to implode to close to the other pubs elections.

27. Katherine Harris Campaign Loses Core Staff
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Katherine Harris' U.S. Senate campaign lost what was left of its core team when a top adviser, campaign manager, and communications director resigned this weekend.

Harris, a Republican congresswoman challenging incumbent Democratic Sen. Bill Nelson (news, bio, voting record), said Saturday she would introduce new members of her campaign early in the week.

"We are stronger as a campaign today than we were yesterday," Harris said in a press release.

::snip::

Former campaign manager Jim Dornan, who resigned in November, said, "She had the best people in the country. She can't get any better than that.

41. she sounds like the little man in the WH:--just plain stubborn.

...Phone messages left for Rollins and Dobbs were not immediately returned, while contact information was not found for Miller. Harris didn't immediately return a call Saturday for additional comment.

Her campaign has struggled since announcing plans to challenge Nelson last summer.

For months, GOP leaders in Washington tried recruiting someone else into the race, and Harris' fundraising was slow from the start. Turnover has also been a problem. She recently lost a pollster, a national financial director, treasurer and media consultant.

Advisers urged her to get out of the race. She refused and announced last month that she would spend $10 million of her own money to compete with Nelson, whom she has trailed significantly in several polls.

40. Dear Miss Whoreiss, uh Harris
Was that you I saw at Disney world in the parking lot offering "that special campaign promise" to patrons trying to run away and have a real good time, or was that you in the dumpster at the Wendy's by the beach? Anyway, I'm sorry things have not gone well since you blew the election for the country back in 2000. Who would have thought that you'd be kicked to the curb like the nasty crack ho you really are. And the promises they made to you, my my. You believed them. THAT is even funnier. I'll even bet when you withdraw from the race this week, you'll try to turn "Independent" and still run for political office.

Here's a little tip Katty, the BFEE has no use for ho's. Remember Linda Tripp? She's a no-home walkin the dog snakes on a plane mutha fucker now, just like you.
