Ex-'Apprentice' (Bhakta -- R) acknowledges DWI arrests
FORT WASHINGTON, Pa. - Raj Bhakta, the aspiring apprentice turned aspiring politician, acknowledges that he has been arrested twice on drunken driving charges.

Bhakta, who was fired by Donald Trump during the second season of the NBC reality show "The Apprentice," is the Republican challenging Democratic U.S. Rep. Allyson Schwartz for a seat representing suburban Philadelphia.

Bhakta on Friday confirmed the authenticity of a June 1997 arrest report posted on "The Smoking Gun" Web site. He also disclosed that he had a second such arrest in Colorado.

The 1997 report said Bhakta was arrested in Brookline, Mass., after an officer stopped him for having no license plate. He agreed to undergo an alcohol-education program and pay a $35 fine, according to Smoking Gun.

2. Following in the foot steps of the world leader, GWB...
Nice. Very nice. Just the kind of people we want making decisions for us. A bunch of drunks who haven't got the common sense to know they shouldn't drive.

Look at what this careless attitude has done to America in the last 5 years.

Good luck, Rep. Allyson Schwartz.

On edit:

He was an utter ass on the Apprentice show, you may remember.

5. DWI and they "stopped him for having no license plate"
What was the line in Animal House? "Fat drunk and stupid is no way to go through life"?

Here is a clue: if you're going to drink and drive, it is best to have all lights functional, a valid inspection sticker, and ALL FREAKING LICENSE PLATES REQUIRED.

On the other hand, I'd prefer the drunks got bagged often and early before they drive into somebody's living room.

6. Usually they kill innocent persons and survive the wreckage...
And Republicans want to forgive them and let them get on the road again after a ludicrous re-education class.

8. Maybe he didn't believe in license plates? Like that Tim McVeigh guy?
He blew-up a whole building and didn't bother having a license plate.

19. and for that he got a $35 fine?
smells. driving without a license plate must be at least a $35 fine. Most people would end up in jail for doing this.

9. I don't hate people for being Repubs. But, two DWIs?
Maybe he needs to prove more than being able to be fired by Trump to be qualified for Congress.

17. Sounds to me like this was pleaded down to diversion.
I got an open container one time and they pleaded to around a $50 "fine" and $200 for the "alcohol education class." Don't get in trouble for another 6 months and it goes on the record as a "headlight out." Non-moving violation. Sounds very similar.

18. 2 - and one with driving while not having a license plate
hope he was in a friend's car and just didn't notice the lack of plate - otherwise... that is NO mistake. Just recklessness (as in - no one will notice if I drive before I can pay/get myself down to the license branch)
