1. It'll be da bomb!
Literally. That's how they'll generate the waves...just fill a giant pool and wait for the explosions. Surf's up, baby!

10. female garb
In Iran, at least, pools (and sports venues) are always segregated by sex and Iranian women can indeed wear "regular" swimming apparel or workout clothes. If there are no separate facilities, they set aside a certain block of time or certain days just for women.

Don't you need running water for this to work? Last I heard that was one luxury that the Iraqis didn't have!!!!!

7. I hope they use something other than electricity to run it because:
Currently, even in the best neighbourhoods of Baghdad there is only twelve hours of electricity per day, and this only intermittently.
Most areas of the city have between six and eight hours of power per 24 hours.

Hard to justfiy diverting scarce resources like water and power to an amusement park.

15. Actually, that will make Iraq a lot more like America.
I mean, don't we build amusements and frivolities while millions of our citizens live in abject poverty, suffer for no logical reason, and even die from problems and issues that are well within our budget and capacity to solve?

18. can't you just see women in burqas
sliding gleefully down the slides? Sounds like a real hit to me. Boys and girls together, yeah right. I'm sure the Iraqis would prefer running water in their homes.
