Rumsfeld won't speculate on Iran plans


WASHINGTON (AP) — Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld said Tuesday he would not engage in "fantasy land" speculation about a possible U.S. attack on Iran, though he said the Bush administration is concerned about Tehran's nuclear ambitions.

Rumsfeld declined to comment on Iran's claim that it has has successfully enriched uranium for the first time.

"I'd rather wait and see what our experts say about it," the defense secretary told reporters shortly after the announcement from Tehran.

It was fantasy to expect any outcome other than what we are seeing, since untold numbers of experts predicted the current situation.

Rumsfeld was in fantasy-land in 1975 when he oversaw the failed Mayaguez 'incident' also. He got dozens of marines and sailors killed by ordering an attack on an island full of nothing but deadly snakes and dug in Cambodian fighters. He had hoped to occupy it for The US but it just didn't work out.
