5. Nobody cares anymore about any of the troops in the war zones.
They are either backdrops when needed for PR, or they are embarrassments whom it is best to just ignore. The wounded and crippled are simply an unsightly clutter that only detracts from the functioning of a "beautiful mind". All of our troops are being played for suckers - and anyone who joins now or re-ups is just asking to be used, abused, and discarded like garbage. Welcome to the Fascist States of America, home of the rich and the elite, land of the privileged and the above-it-all.

Give me your tried, your weak, and your humbled; and I will eat them alive....

7. Well
The troops have to decide, do they die for Bush and the Corporations, or do they stand up against this dictator and resist.

It's their decision to make.

6. Welcome to the Desert of the Real...
All the Republican war fantasies culminate in this: the desert of the Real, the unmistakable force that sways for no malignant spin, that brooks no machinations, that cannot be explained, or pundited away, or made the subject of a media campaign: that margin of the Real, where the charge sets off, and the twisted piece of metal cuts into the artery, singing the flesh, and ending in a jagged hole, through which the heart, no longer constrained by the boundaries of the closed body, pumps blood on to the sand. Welcome, Republican fuckwads, to the desert of the Real.

14. How can this be?
"Major combat operations in Iraq have ended. In the battle of Iraq, the United States and our allies have prevailed." GWB, May 1, 2003.

I guess the memo still hasn't been properly translated in the Iraqi language.
:-(

19. The increase is due to the US having to step up where the Iraqis falter
It's time to leave Iraq but that would take away the squeeze play on Iran.

22. Well, he has to get on with his life.
I'm sure you wouldn't deny him that. Besides, he may hug the widows and fatherless children:

"There's only one person who is responsible for making that decision , and that's me. And there's only one person who hugs the mothers and the widows, the wives and the kids on the death of their loved ones. Others hug, but having committed the troops, I've got an additional responsibility to hug, and that's me, and I know what it's like."

17. Mercy
We must end this war that only brings suffering to us and to the Iraqis. What good can come of this? Five more families heartbroken, and for what?
No amount of blood can change the failed premise for this war. Now we need a real leader to salvage peace from this disaster. The world can't wait. George isn't up to the job.

20. We could either support Kerry's plan to get out of Iraq by year's end
or we could follow the advice of the appeasers in our own party and wait until January 20, 2009.

I'll say let's go with Kerry's plan. What about you?

23. Kerry's plan puts more pressure on the administration.
Anything that puts more pressure on the administration to change their strategy is a good thing.

I'm not sure we will out of Iraq anytime soon, though.

26. There is no such thing as a Bush "Administration"!
There is the Bush dictatorship, the Bush regime, the Bush cabal, the Bush mafia, etc., the term "Administration" denotes some sort of legitimate government that faithfully adheres to the Constitution.

32. Wesley Clark seems like the man for the job in Iraq
The Current Occupant is acting/talking like an innocent bystander. Golly, he says, I sure hope them Iraqis don't kill each other. An actual president would go into crisis mode and LEAD, and put someone like Clark in charge of transitioning a functioning government into place. He strikes me as having the right combination of military leadership and civilian/mediation leadership. Somebody has got to lock Iraq's "government" in a room and help them come to the right conclusions for their country to be able to pick up from these shattered pieces.

All this administration knows how to do is loot and catapult propaganda.
