Stephen Harper's Conservative government has quickly aligned itself with the hard-line U.S. position on Iran's controversial nuclear strategy by stating international sanctions may soon be necessary.
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Thursday there would be no concessions in talks with Mohamed ElBaradei, the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency, who was in Tehran this week to try to convince the Iranian government to comply.
Few expect the Iranian announcement to have been a hoax and the Iranian president effectively told the West to get used to it. ``Our answer to those who are angry about Iran obtaining the full nuclear cycle is one phrase,'' Ahmadinejad said late Wednesday. ``We say, `Be angry, and die of this anger.'''
Rice said the UN should consider adopting the so-called Chapter 7 resolutions that could lead to military action against Iran.
