Sancho has also had problems finding companies willing to sell the county voting machines because of a test his office conducted last year. In it, elections office workers tried to corrupt a Diebold machine's results to show that it could be done. That was part of the problem with Diebold as well.

-

Diebold spokesman David Bear said the company has sent the county an offer for a contract that tries to address concerns Diebold officials had about unauthorized ''demonstrations'' of machines. Bear said company officials were particularly concerned that they found out about Sancho's previous efforts in news coverage.

-

''Obviously, we need some reassurance we're not going to be continuously reading in the newspaper about demonstrations'' of Diebold machines' capabilities, Bear said Friday.

Sancho called the agreement ``a positive development.''

God forbid that citizens be able to read about corrupted voting systems and/or the viability of their democracy!

2. I'd like to see a contract that jurisdictions have to sign with vendors.

In Yolo County, CA, the BoE balked at using ES&S because of restrictions required by them.

I'm also concerned that Leon goes from using the more-hackable OpScan to the more-riggable DRE.

Florida is hurting.

3. How could Sancho go back to Diebold?
This is gross negligence and dereliction of duty, from someone who has lead us to expect more from him.

4. If we dig deeper, we'll find the state blocking him.

The people rising in support of Sancho may have saved his job, but it may not have been enough for him to tell SoS Cobb to stay out of Leon.

Hell. A county commish was shut out.

I think Ion wanted to use a system called IVS for the accessibilty requirement, but I don't know what else he was proposing. HCPB? Anyway, the state didn't give certification to IVS.

5. Thanks for trying, Ion. Corruption, thy name is Diebold
I wonder how red Leon County will magically become now.
