(Jeb) Bush to meet troops in Afghanistan
Apr 16, 2006

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) -- After attending a Sunday morning Easter service with troops in Iraq, Gov. Jeb Bush continued his Middle East trip and headed to Afghanistan, where he planned to meet with senior Afghani officials and Florida troops.

"With many of our service men and women serving overseas, we take comfort in God's eternal love and pray for their safe and speedy return," Bush said in a statement his office released Sunday.

Bush, whose brother is President Bush, has been traveling in the region since Friday with three other governors: Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels, Iowa Gov. Tom Vilsack and West Virginia Gov. Joe Manchin. The trip was kept secret until Saturday for security reasons.

It was the seventh delegation of governors to make a trip to Iraq.

"I really felt it was important to be here for Easter," he said.

Gee Jeb, we've only been at war since 2001, now all of a sudden you just have to spend Easter with the troops? What about all the other Easters? And by the way, where's your brother the pResident? Why isn't he spending Easter with the troops?

1. Either this is part of the effort to get governors
on the Iraq war bandwagon or else he's getting ready to run in 2008 or 2012. Don't say that fools in this country would not vote for him because I think they would. His brother got in twice with the help of a supine Democratic party and a complacent press.

8. Indeed
I'm sure the parents of Pat Tillman are delighted that this fat fucker has deigned to honor the site of their son's murder with his vast and jowly presence.

Just when I think I cannot hate this fucking family more, THEY PULL ME BACK IN.
