Congressman calls for a new Defense Secretary

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (AP) — Congressman John Murtha says it's time for Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld to leave office.

He tells the CBS “Early” show that Rumsfeld has to take the blame for mistakes in Iraq, such as inadequate troop numbers, a lack of training, and worn out equipment.

The Pennsylvania Democrat says the country can't move forward until President Bush holds people responsible.

Murtha has been a leading critic of the war in Iraq, and he says the administration plan in that country isn't working. He says U.S. troops are “caught in a civil war,” and he cites military commanders as saying the fight in Iraq can't be won militarily.

Of course the idiot conservative guest disagreeded and Dobbs looked shocked.

Randi said that the American people need to hear the truth.

4. BUT the CIC needs to be held responsible for starting this illegal war
Getting rid of Rumsfeld is a given. He's a war criminal. But Bush is the "decider" and HE is the one to be held accountable for the illegal, immoral war and its consequences.

5. Rumsfeld should have been fired after Abu Ghraib - it's taken a long time
for the volume to crank up.

10. True - Rumsfeld said he'd resign twice - it all comes down to BUSH.
Bush wants the war to continue - chaos in Iraq is good for business - the businesses of his buddies in the oil companies and defense industry.

The fascist agenda to privatize the military is going along as expected, too.

7. There was an article on some obscure web site
It said that the officers are so resentful of Rumsfailed, that they don't care any more. They've deliberately botched orders, or certain things they have to do, because they despise him so much.

I'd call that Mutiny on the Bounty.

13. Lightening Rod for Hatred of the US
Even IF Rumsfeld was doing a good job, he has become a lightning rod for international hatred of the US. If the US wants to improve attitudes towards the US around the world, Rumsfeld must go.

15. Murtha would make a great Sec. of Defense.
I hope he's considered for the post in 2008. Lord knows Boy George would never want anyone who was good at the job & not willing to take the heat for him. Because that's one reason Rummy will stay: he deflects attention from the DictatorTot.

16. Rhandi was on Lou Dobbs?
He really likes her. We may get a real voice in the msm at this rate. But yeah on Murtha! I am delighted that he is going very public again.

I'm sure dummy knows that when he leaves the protection of the wh, he will face prosecution for crimes against humanity. I think that heartless is going to have to go before dummy because imho, that is who is holding him up. I'm sure they are holding each other's balls very close.
