Girlfriend may hurt Skilling's credibility (Enron trial)
By Bruce Nichols
The Dallas Morning News

. . .

Notably, during Skilling's last day on the stand, lead prosecutor Sean Berkowitz apparently surprised Skilling with questions about his dealings with Jennifer Binder, founder of PhotoFete, whom he once dated.

Skilling first said his investment in the online photo-sharing firm was $60,000. Then he conceded it was $180,000.

He first said Binder did as little as $30,000 worth of business with Enron. Then documents showed the total was $450,000.

Finally, he admitted he should have reported it to Enron's board of directors under the company's code of ethics but didn't.

"Photofete is a snapshot of his activities, and I think if the jury perceives that, they will have a hard time believing the rest of his testimony," said Hilder, now in private practice and representing Enron whistle-blower Sherron Watkins.

1. Manipulators always think they can con
everyone all the time. Jeffrey Skilling first class conman manipulator. Did he really think they hadn't checked? Rot in prison, Jeffrey. Don't you just know he is shitting his pants everyday? Even if he gets pardoned, it will be worth it for him to be convicted and go to prison.

3. The nice thing about this piece is that it is nice and simple
The Skilling trial is long and complicated. This story is nice and simple. It should make it really clear for the jury.

4. $450k vs $30k? only off by a factor of 15. *shrug*
yeah, i think the jury's going to look at his other numbers in a different light now. if his memory is so bad that he can't recall one set of numbers, how can he recall another?
