Turkish military action in Iraq will take place if needed -- Ozkok
http://www.kuna.net.kw/Home/Story.aspx?Language=en&DSNO=855776

ANKARA, April 24 (KUNA) -- Chief of the Turkish General Staff Hilmi Ozkok said Turkey will conduct military action in northern Iraq if needed.

According to Turkey's Anadolu Agency, Ozkok said since article 51 of the UN Charter allows beyond-the-border military action, Turkey might enter Iraq to eliminate Kurdish separatists.

While explaining that each nation makes decisions independently depending in its needs, he said this issue has no link with the visit of US State Secretary Condoleezza Rice to Ankara on Tuesday.

Ozkok explained that moving the Land Forces Command to the Turkish border has no special connotation, adding that "it was only a matter of needing the command over there."

1. Gee, didn't we say this would happen?
Just more proof that the BFEE has no clue when it comes to the region's political divide.

Considering Turkey is our NATO ally, we're obligated to come to their aid. Imagine the consequences of this.

2. Turkey will do to the Kurds what Saddam did in the late 80s?
Guess we'll have to invade Turkey and put them on trial, too.

3. Whoa, what took them so long to throw the gasoline on the fire?
Been wondering when the Turks were gonna get tired of those uppity Kurds. Wanting their own country with oil fields, giving Turkish Kurds bad ideas, all that kind of stuff.

5. Perhaps bush will gas the Kurds as a gesture of good will toward Turkey
I'm sure bush would like to gas someone right about now.
(Yes, I am aware that Saddam never gassed the Kurds.)
Anyway, sometimes I think the Kurdistan National Anthem
should be "I Got Plenty of Nothing"
