Cuba Militant Applies for U.S. Citizenship
April 26, 2006

EL PASO, Texas -- A Cuban militant accused of masterminding the 1976 bombing of a Cuban airliner has applied to become a U.S. citizen, his lawyer said Tuesday.

Luis Posada Carriles, who has been jailed in El Paso on immigration charges since May, is scheduled to be interviewed Wednesday as part of his application.

Felipe D.J. Millan, an immigration lawyer hired by Posada's Miami lawyers, said he will accompany Posada during the interview but declined to provide details of the application.

Posada, a former CIA operative and a fervent foe of Cuban President Fidel Castro, is accused by Cuba and Venezuela of plotting the 1976 bombing while living in Venezuela. He has denied involvement in the bombing, which killed 73 people.

Got to give the guy credit, he sure has cajones.

Now let's see if Bush lets a known terrorist and an illegal alien become a US citizen.

1. This is just too crazy to wrap my head around this early in the morning.
It would be just like the bush** admin to step in and give citizenship to a mass murderer. He's a buddy of Poppy's I believe.

4. His father set aside an exclusionary proceeding and gave a pardon
to Posada Carriles' co-bomber/co-mass murderer, Orlando Bosch, after the acting associate Attorney General Joe D. Whitley refused to allow Bosch to remain in the U.S.

George H. W. Bush's son, Jeb, lobbied his father heavily to get this result, aided by Cuban "exile" Congresswoman, Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, and Bosch's attorney, the grandson of bloody, corrupt, murderous dictator Fulgencio Batista, Raoul Cantero, whom Jeb made a Florida Supreme Court Justice a couple of years ago.

Here is the exclusionary proceeding document link:

IN THE MATTER OF:
ORLANDO BOSCH-AVILA,
APPLICANT

In exclusion proceedings under
section 235 (c) before the
Acting Associate Attorney General

Decision of the Acting Associate Attorney General

INTRODUCTION+
Pursuant to my responsibilities as Acting Associate Attorney General, I have undertaken a review of the Immigration and Naturalization Service's (INS) decision of May 19, 1989 concerning the applications of Orlando Bosch-Avila for admission to the United States and for asylum. This review has included consideration of the decisions of the INS Regional Commissioner and the Commissioner, the submission of Bosch to the Regional Commissioner arguing against exclusion and requesting a hearing on his asylum application, and certain confidential and nonconfidential information respecting Bosch.
-------------------------------
page 2

For 30 years Bosch has been resolute and unwavering in his advocacy of terrorist violence. He has threatened and undertaken violent terrorist acts against numerous targets, including nations friendly toward the United States and their highest officials. He has repeatedly expressed and demonstrated a willingness to cause indiscriminate injury and death. His actions have been those of a terrorist, unfettered by laws or human decency, threatening and inflicting violence without regard to the identity of his victims.

The United States cannot tolerate the inherent inhumanity of terrorism as a way of settling disputes. Appeasement of those who would use force will only breed more terrorists. We must look on terrorism as a universal evil, even if it is directed toward those with whom we have no political sympathy. As United States District Court has eloquently states with respect to this very case, "the evils of terrorism do not become less because of the participants and the cause." Orlando Bosch Avila v. Perry Rivkind, 88-973-C.V.-HOEVELER (S.D. Fla. June 1, 1988) (Order On Petition For Writ of Habeas Corpus). See also Matter of Rivero-Diaz, 12 I & N Dec. 475 (BIA, 1967).

As a result of this review, the conclusion is inescapable that it would be prejudicial to the public interest for the United States to provide a safe haven for Bosch. I have moreover concluded that he is an alien excludable from the United States under 8 U.S.C.- 1182 (a) (27), (28) (ii), (28) (iii), (28) (iv) and (29), and that his applications for asylum and withholding of

deportation should be and herein are denied. In addition, pursuant to 8 U.S.C. 1225 (c), and after consultation with appropriate security agencies of the United States, I conclude that disclosure of the confidential information upon which this decision is based would be prejudicial to the public interest, safety, or security.

Bosch had been refused admittance by 31 countries by the time the elder Bush pardoned him. He lives freely in his Miami home currently, where he is regarded as a hero, even having a DAY named after him, as well as a Miami street, gifts awarded him by the Miami city commissioners.

5. Bosch always gets a front row seat whenever the Bush's come to town
Nice to see the Bush's consorting with known terrorists.

Plus, he was Elian Gonzalez's 'pediatrician' during the Miami fiasco. I wouldn't let that creep near my kid with a 10 foot pole.

6. Just shows you how sick these right-wing idiots are, in their hearts.
Nothing matters to them beyond getting their way. Morality, self-denial, heart-searching never enter into their decisions.

Petty, nasty, greedy, violent children.

2. This guy should be sent before a Venezuelan Judge...
to be tried for his crimes, its simple, the US should give the bastard up. We shouldn't coddle any terrorists, even those we LIKE.

9. Realistically, he should go before a Cuban court - he has killed Cubans.
This bastard was involved in the downing of a Cuban airliner that killed (murdered) many Cubans. Their families have never seen justice served.

10. All of a sudden the US is worried about someone getting tortured?
When we are running secret prisons and torturing 'enemy combatants' on a daily basis. If we are so worried about Posada's rights, then charge him in a US Court and try him here.

3. I have no doubt Bush will give it to him. He's one of Bush's fan base
in Miami. You may remember Bush made over 25 trips to Miami before his "re-election." He always can count on a huge pro-Bush turnout there, as well as unlimited campaign funds, just as his dad was able to use a pool of Cuban "exile" CIA creeps to commit mayhem all over the world against those scary "leftists."

youthful and old Luis Posada Carriles

Torture Victim Speaks Out Against Luis Posada Carriles
by LP Wire Sunday, Jul. 17, 2005 at 8:05 PM

Today, a detailed article released in Venezuela alleges vicious torture and murder committed at the hands of Luis Posada Carriles and others.

Caracas, July 17 (LP) A man previously tortured under the orders of Posada Carriles in Venezuela revealed a list of more than 60 people killed by groups led by the Cuban born criminal.

Angel Bastides, a former member of the Communist Youth, then arrested by a group from the Police General Division (DIGEPOL) headed by Posada Carriles, denounced that many of the killers are still free.

Bastidas ascertained Posada, already wanted by Venezuelan justice from the United States, has played a role in the repression of civil rights activists in the 1960 and 70´s.

Venezuela is currently clamoring for the extradition of the Cuban born terrorist with a Venezuelan citizenship, responsible of the blowing of the a Cuban plane in mid-air, which took the lives of 73 people.

In an article published in “Todo Adentro” weekly edition, Bastidas recalls that Posada was one of several Cubans counter-revolutionaries hired by the Venezuelan government during the term of 1965 -1970 to lead repression.

11. i wasn't criticizing your spelling...your spelling is fine..i too use the
word cajones in those circumstances when i feel that the one letter change might cut mustard with sensitive censors or moral guideposts. as a person who was born in cuba, "cojones" was a word we were forbidden to even utter out loud! (bad taste, not lady like, all of that)... these days, for me, cojones puts an accent on the machismo and bravado of the bushes and their goons. that is all i was doing here, so i hope YOU FORGIVE ME ... for having had the need to colorize for my own purposes what you had already so well illustrated.

13. Posada Carriles is involved in a horrendous double cross against
some Cubans who were trying to defend their country against him and people like him in Miami:

The Case of the Cuban Five
Honor and Injustice
By JOSÉ PERTIERRA

Last Valentine’s Day, the Federal Court of Appeals heard oral arguments concerning one of the greatest injustices in the history of U.S. jurisprudence. The lives of five innocent men hang in the balance, awaiting the decision of the 11th Circuit. Although the United Nations Working Group on Arbitrary Detentions already declared their trial in Miami unfair and in violation of international law, most Americans are not familiar with the story of the Cuban Five.
(snip)

The mastermind behind the terror campaign of the 90s was Luis Posada Carriles, who was then living in hiding in Central America and receiving money from Miami extremist groups. Posada Carriles was wanted in Venezuela for the cold blooded murder of 73 innocent passengers aboard a Cuban civilian airliner he downed in 1976 using C-4 explosives. With the help of influential friends in Miami and Washington, he escaped from jail in Venezuela while awaiting trial.

The money trail led directly to the lap of Posada Carriles and passed through the offices of the terrorist organizations in Miami that financed him. In 1998, Posada Carriles admitted to the New York Times of being the mastermind behind the bombing campaign in Cuba and that the money used to carry out the campaign of terror came from well known Cuban-immigrant organizations in Miami.

Cuba handed over to the FBI tapes of 14 telephone conversations of Luis Posada Carriles with details on the series of bombs that had exploded in Cuba in the 90s. Cuba also gave the FBI Luis Posada Carriles´ addresses in El Salvador, Honduras, Costa Rica, Guatemala and Panamá. Also tapes of conversations with Central American detainees in Cuba who admitted Posada Carriles is their boss and had sent them to Cuba to place explosives in the hotels and restaurants. Finally, Cuba turned over 60 sets of documents with information about 40 terrorists based in Miami, including their addresses, and evidence of their ties to terror.

Cuba then waited . . . and waited . . . and waited. Cuba waited for the FBI to start arresting terrorists. But instead the FBI arrested on September 12, 1998, the men now known as the Cuban Five: the men who had come to Miami to penetrate the Miami exile terrorist organizations.
