Al Qaeda leader wants Danish cartoonists handed over
Edited on Thu Apr-27-06 07:59 PM by ECH1969
The complete version of Osama bin Laden's most recent audio message appeared Thursday on Islamist Web sites, four days after excerpts appeared on the Arabic language TV channel Al-Jazeera.

Muslims consider it sacrilegious to produce a likeness of Mohammad, and the cartoons sparked violent protests throughout the Muslim world. He said the cartoon controversy was "too serious for an apology" and was the most serious aspect of the alleged war against Islam.

He called for the extradition of those responsible for drawing and publishing the cartoons to be tried by al Qaeda. "We demand that their governments hand them over to us to be judged by the law of Allah," he said.

Defeating America in Iraq, he said, would end the attacks against Muslims. "The axis and the mill of this war is located in Baghdad ... and they say over and over again that success in Baghdad is success for America and that their failure in Baghdad is failure for America," he said.

2. These people also call for
the destruction of religious shrines dear to other Muslims, and wish that the ceremonies performed by other Muslims, meetings of other Muslims, be banned. Do not let their rhetoric color your opinion of Islam-they speak loudly, but they are in a minority. And they are helped by a Western press that ignores the statements and actions of moderate Muslims so as to paint a picture that we moderate/progressive Muslims "do nothing". That's as true as "The Democrats have no ideas for the future."

5. How could anything be more serious than a cartoon?
He said the cartoon controversy was "too serious for an apology" and was the most serious aspect of the alleged war against Islam.

Maybe if Paris Hilton were involved in this, then her role in this might be more important than the role of the cartoon.

7. These people are so indescribably ridiculous in their demands that
even if a case is made for some of their gripes against the United States they just make them irrelevant when they say shit like this.

Obviously the smart ones are not the ones with the tape recorders (or whatever).

judges who refuse to consider appeals of complicated cases merely because they want to avoid extremely challenging and emotionally upsetting judicial cases?

He called for the extradition of those responsible for drawing and publishing the cartoons to be tried by al Qaeda. "We demand that their governments hand them over to us to be judged by the law of Allah," he said.
