Grafton, who did not return telephone messages seeking comment, was blasted by his interim successor as party chairman.

County Clerk Susan Kirk told the Vanderburgh County Election Board on Thursday that Grafton never took advantage of an opportunity to dictate where five of the county's 550 electronic voting machines would be stationed on primary election day.
Democratic Chairman Larry Aiken did take Kirk up on her offer to decide where five machines would go, Kirk said.
Neither did Grafton indicate whether he approved of Kirk's plan for allocation of the machines to the county's 131 precincts, Kirk said - but she added that he may have assumed her decisions were sound because she is a Republican.
