Anti-terror law protesters target prison (Australia)
About 100 protesters left Melbourne this morning to rally outside Victoria's Barwon Prison against Australian anti-terrorism laws.

Civil Rights Defence spokesman Mark Pendleton said the prison, near Geelong, was targeted because it holds 13 men arrested in recent raids under new anti-terrorism laws.

"The message is just that we think the terror laws are unjust," Mr Pendleton said. "Ultimately our aim is to repeal the terror laws." <snip>

"My brother and the other arrested men are confused and want to know why they are in Australia's highest security unit for simply practising their religion," Mr Merhi said in a statement.
