Common Cause Seeks Justice Probe of Harris
May 1, 2006

WASHINGTON -- A congressional watchdog group asked the Justice Department on Monday to investigate whether Rep. Katherine Harris, R-Fla., attempted to obtain a $10 million appropriation for a defense contractor in return for his financial support.

Common Cause filed a complaint with the Justice Department, citing information provided by contractor Mitchell Wade, as part of a plea agreement in the bribery case of convicted former Rep. Randy "Duke" Cunningham, R-Calif.

Justice Department spokesman Bryan Sierra said the department does not comment on, or confirm, criminal investigations.

Harris is a two-term House member who is running for the Senate. However, she is best known as the state official who certified President Bush's 537-vote win in Florida in the disputed 2000 presidential election.

Wade, former president of MZM Inc., admitted making $32,000 in illegal contributions to Harris' 2004 campaign for the House.

3. Gonna need a legal defense fund.
The Harris name is being smeared!
It is really a shame that justice in this country costs a lot of money. And Kate might have almost enough.

7. I don't get it...??
"Common Cause filed a complaint with the Justice Department, citing information provided by contractor Mitchell Wade, as part of a plea agreement in the bribery case of convicted former Rep. Randy "Duke" Cunningham, R-Calif."

Why wouldn't the Justice Department launch a probe on their own??

8. (one of the more entertaining "side shows")
before the real Meat & Potatoes this fall.

I simply Love the melodrama of the Katherine Harris race. The tears....the rubbing of the young reporter's thighs.....the animosity as Harris gets dumped by the Repubs.

Folks, this is Soap Opera at its finest.

The central core of this battle is Jeb Bush in the governor's mansion. He obviously is upping the ante for Little Miss Muffet. He's going to do all he can to get rid of her. The problem is, he's facing a deadline and he'd better hurry. The problem is, she won't go!!!

Let's stay tuned to this cliff-hanger.
