Earlier today former Republican lawmaker Bonnie Ladwig was sentenced to 30 days in jail for her role in a political corruption scandal.

The judge also sentenced former Republican aide Sherry Schultz to four months in jail. She will also be allowed to serve the sentence at home with electronic monitoring. Schultz was convicted of running many political campaigns for Republican candidates while on the state's payroll.
Ladwig directed a state employee to do political campaign work on state time, using state equipment. Ladwig and former lawmakers Steve Foti and Scott Jensen were Republican leaders convicted of ignoring laws separating government work from political campaigning.
