LONDON, Nov 20 (Reuters) - Some countries have issued advisories to their nationals travelling to Istanbul after twin blasts against British targets in the city on Thursday killed at least 27 people and wounded 440.

Following is a list of advisories:

BRITAIN

Foreign Office advises "against all but the most essential travel to Istanbul and other major cities, until the situation becomes clearer".

UNITED STATES

Visa operations are suspended in Istanbul and Americans are advised to "to avoid Western-oriented businesses, religious institutions, shopping centers, restaurants, bars, etc".

"All American citizens are urged to continue exercising extreme caution and maintaining a low profile throughout Turkey," the U.S. embassy in Ankara said in a message on its Web site.
