Iraq: Fate of Mercenary 'Peacekeepers' During War
Moldovan Peacekeeper Wounded in Iraq

-The Moldovan Government only provides equipment and per capita $10-$20 daily allowance to the officers, and all the rest expenditures of their stay in Iraq are on the U.S. Government.

Vyacheslav Lipciu, a low-ranked commissioned officer from the Moldovan peacekeeper contingent in Iraq, received a gunshot would in his leg during patrolling of his team's responsibility zone. The Moldovan peacekeepers were attacked by unknown people from an ambush. Lipciu received first aid on the spot, and then was sent for treatment to a hospital in Germany. One of the persons suspected of the attack was detained the following day.

Ukrainian soldier commits suicide in Iraq

-Some 1,650 Ukrainian soldiers have been deployed in the Iraqi province of Wasit since August as part of a contingent under Polish command.
Two other Ukrainian soldiers have died in Iraq following accidents, the defence ministry said.

KIEV, Nov 18 (AFP) - A Ukrainian soldier deployed in southeastern Iraq as part of the US-led international stabilisation forces on Tuesday committed suicide, Ukraine's defence ministry said.

Captain Olexei Bondarenko, a reservist called up to serve as an interpreter in Arabic in August, shot himself for unknown reasons, it said in a statement.

1. And 87 ukrainian soldiers were sent home
6 of them are criminally charged, 40 - objectors to fight an illegal war which has nothing to do with peacekeeping duty.

2. This is the first I have heard about the Ukranian suicide.
And deaths. I suppose they aren't important enough for the US press to mention.

Shame.
