KHARTOUM (AFP) - Sudanese Vice President Ali Osman Taha has vowed the regime would maintain its opposition to a UN peacekeeping force for Darfur and hailed Hezbollah as a model of resistance, official media said.


"We have options and plans for confronting the international intervention," state news agency SUNA quoted Taha as telling a rally in the North Kordofan State capital of El-Obeid late Thursday.

He cited the toll which the Shiite militant group Hezbollah had "exacted in the ranks of the (Israeli) army" during the devastating conflict in Lebanon through its "determination, patience and political will".

"We are prepared for all possibilities," the vice president said Friday.

I might have backed US military interference in Sudan (as part of a multi-national force.) If anyone actually gave a shit enough about Africans to do something about it.

But I guess they're not strategic enough to interfere with.

What's going on in the Sudan is a disgrace and it's disgraceful that the world sits back and watches. If we're going to be the world's policeman, this case of domestic violence should be high on the list of crimes in progress to stop.
