WASHINGTON - Dovetailing with President Bush's war-on-terror message, a conservative advocacy group launched a television ad Thursday warning that many critics of the war in Iraq "would cut and run in the Middle East, leaving al-Qaida to attack us again."


The ad by Progress for America, a conservative group that gained prominence in the 2004 presidential election, displays images of past terrorist acts against the U.S. by Islamic terrorists and links the war in Iraq to the broader campaign against terrorism.

Its release comes as President Bush is executing an aggressive political strategy nine weeks before midterm elections to draw attention to the continuing fight abroad and at home to thwart terrorists.

"Many times before 9-11, al-Qaida attacked America, and we took little action," the ad's narrator says. "But after 9-11, we struck back, destroying al-Qaida terrorists in Afghanistan and Iraq."

8. One problem seems to be

that apparently Osama and the various factions in both Afghanistan and Iraq are unaware that the Chimp's administration has destroyed them. In their ignorance, they keep on killing our troops. In some cases, such as in Iraq, they are waging something that would be called a civil war by everybody but the crazies in the Bush government, and killing each other, too. Things keep getting much, much worse in both countries.

Conservatives still keep on tying the invasion of Iraq, which did not possess WMDs, to the attacks on the WTC. If we had stayed in Afghanistan, we could have had OBL, but the sociopaths in charge couldn't resist tying Al Quaida and Saddam, even though there was no connection. Invading Iraq was a goal of Bush's, and the PNACers, who would have used any excuse, however unlikely, to reach their goal.

In looking at their past predictions, and being able to show that they were wrong on every single thing they were saying, they now expect them to protect us? Ask Katrina survivors how safe Bush has kept them. They can tell us. Our country is much worse off today than it was when Chimp was illegally handed the presidency. In every single measure of government, the economy, our intrastructure, FEMA's ability to respond to natural disasters, and in foreign affairs, we've been on a downhill slide ever since Jan. of 2001.
