Pilgrims killed heading for religious festival in Iraq

BAGHDAD, Iraq At least three Iraqi pilgrims headed for a religious festival in Karbala (KAHR'-bah-lah) have been killed in a mortar attack.

More than 20 others were wounded when rounds landed on their procession.

Tens of thousands of Shiites are expected for tomorrow's festivities in the holy city. Some Iraqis walk many miles across the country to get there. Similar processions have been targeted in the past.
