NYT: F.B.I. Agents Question Accuracy of 9/11 Series

Two retired F.B.I. agents said today that they had rejected advisory roles on the disputed ABC mini-series, “The Path to 9/11,” because of concerns about the program’s accuracy.

One of the agents, Thomas E. Nicoletti, was hired by the producers of the mini-series in July 2005 to oversee its technical accuracy, but left after less than a month because of scenes he believed were misleading or just false.

“There were some of the scenes that were total fiction,” said Mr. Nicoletti, who served as a supervisory special agent and a member of the joint terrorism task force before retiring in 2003. “I told them unless they were changing this, I could not have my name associated with it.”

Chief among Mr. Nicoletti’s concerns were scenes that placed people at places they had not been present at and scenes that depicted events that were out of chronological order.

“There were so many inaccuracies,” he said.

4. We often forget that MOSTcops are GOOD cops
Whether it's in Mayberry or the FBI, they're out there trying to follow the rules and trying to make sure others follow the rules, too. I thing that most of us believe this at heart, but forget it all too often.

These are two of the good guys. Lying is wrong.

8. NY Times: FBI agents question accuracy of "Path to 9/11"

F.B.I. Agents Question Accuracy of 9/11 Series
By JESSE McKINLEY

Mr. Nicoletti said he asked the producers to make changes, but was rebuffed. “I’m well aware of what’s dramatic license and what’s historical inaccuracy,” Mr. Nicoletti said. “And this had a lot of historical inaccuracy.”

ABC, which has said that the mini-series is a docudrama about terrorism investigations prior to 9/11, not a documentary, has said that “for dramatic and narrative purposes, the movie contains fictionalized scenes, composite and representative characters and dialogue, as well as time compression.”

Dan Coleman, who retired from the F.B.I. in 2004, said he also was concerned when he read the script last summer after being approached by producers about being a technical advisor.

“They sent me the script, and I read it and told them they had to be kidding,” Mr. Coleman said. “I wanted my friends at the F.B.I. to still speak to me.”

13. Evangelical Christian cult group YWAM behind "The Path to 9/11"
and Disney is 100% behind them, imagine that...

Disney (ABC & ESPN) won't distribute Fahrenheit 9/11 summer 2004 because "it politicizes 9/11 in an election year".

Disney (ABC & ESPN) broadcasts radical evangelical group funded The Path To 9/11 without commercials on network TV on the (eve of and) fifth anniversary of 9/11 in 2006, much closer to an election than when they forbid distribution of a $120 million grossing domestic motion picture release just two years earlier.

also, the director of "The Path To 9/11" is the son of Youth With A Mission's founder

here's some text from the cult agent training program where they teach their mindless minions to infiltrate the real world:
The Broadcast/Cinema Focus Discipleship Training School aims to equip a generation of emerging filmmakers with the discipleship tools, life skills and professionalism needed to impact millions through motion picture communication.

Students in the Broadcast/Cinema Focus DTS will experience the standard format and curriculum offered at any approved Youth With A Mission DTS worldwide (see box at right). After successfully completing the 12-week lecture phase, students will be sent on overseas field assignments to produce film and television projects developed during the lecture phase. They also will engage in personal and team evangelism, joining forces with local churches and long-term missionaries on the field.

Core content of the DTS

In the first 12 weeks of the school outstanding speakers will teach you how to know God and make Him known:
• The character and nature of God
• Listening to God
• How to know and communicate God's Word effectively
• Biblical world view
• Prayer, intercession, spiritual warfare
• Reconciliation
• Spiritual gifts
• God's heart for the poor and needy
• Missions and evangelism

these fuckwits think they can pull off spreading their lies, I think it's not working.

14. So what's up with the 3rd agent that took the job? Can an FBI agent
be that dim and just turn a blind eye to facts? Facts? I wasn't asked about any facts, I was just dealing with the "image" of the agents. :eyes: Wonder if his friends at the FBI still speak to him. Maybe he doesn't give a sh*t.

Wonder what his new co-workers will think of this. Looks like he's in the consulting business these days. Hope he's not one of those "anything for a buck" types.

15. Al Gore and Harvey Keitel have also assailed this docu-fiction!
Clinton, Other Democrats Assail ABC Docudrama 'Path to 9/11'

By Howard Kurtz
Washington Post Staff Writer
Saturday, September 9, 2006; Page A04

Democrats -- joined yesterday by former vice president Al Gore -- have mounted a campaign against the film, which depicts Clinton administration officials as undermining attempts to capture or kill bin Laden. Actor Harvey Keitel, who plays an FBI agent in the film, has joined the critics, telling CNN's "Showbiz Tonight" that he has had arguments with the filmmakers over elements that were "wrong."

"You can't put these things together, compress them and then distort the reality. . . . You cannot cross the line from a conflation of events to a distortion of the event," Keitel said. "Where we have distorted something, we made a mistake, and it should be corrected."

In another salvo, nine prominent historians -- including Arthur M. Schlesinger Jr., Sean Wilentz and Michael Kazin -- released a letter urging the film's cancellation. Calling ABC's explanation that the movie will be identified as a dramatization "disingenuous and dangerous," they said: "A responsible broadcast network should have nothing to do with the falsification of history, except to expose it."
