Cheney defends Iraq war

WASHINGTON Vice President Cheney says there's no evidence that Iraq had anything to do with Nine-Eleven. But he says there's no doubt that Saddam Hussein was a sponsor of terrorists -- and the world is better off with Saddam out of power.

On N-B-C's "Meet the Press," Cheney said "major progress" is being made both in Iraq and Afghanistan, though there's still "a lot to do."

As for polls indicating Americans think the war in Iraq wasn't worth it, Cheney says people are frustrated because of the difficulty, the cost and the casualties. But he says it's now part of the global war on terror, and it would be a mistake to pull out.

Cheney also says he still believes Iraq had the capability to produce weapons of mass destruction, even though no stockpiles were found -- and that Saddam would have resumed work on them as soon as U-N sanctions ended.

After Cheney disagreed with the poll numbers, 53% of Americans disagreeing with the Iraq War, Tim never
said: But Mr. Cheney, their children and loved ones are out in the field, they get first hand information
back home stating the War is a waste of time and American lives. When will you start listening to the American people?

That kind of follow up was missing from the interview. Sure, Tim showed the contradictions via film clips.
But all in all, the interview was no more than an esoteric exercise in bait and switch!

Shame on Tim..He had a chance to score asking the hard questions and following through; but instead folded like a cheap suit!

9. Breaking news, White Horse admits to mushroom use

Directly contradicting the Senate Intelligence Report, Dickless Chinney today admitted that the White Horse operates on mushrooms and fumes, giving them ample opportunity to fabricate stories for the lemmings.

Back in the real world, the price of gas exceeded $5 today, shutting down schools, public departments, and grinding transportation to a halt.

As usual, the members of the Bush2 cabal conveniently ignore reality.

Bush2 and his cronies justified going into Iraq on the basis of the threat its WMDs posed. They lied.

Launching a war against a soverign nation that hasn't attacked you is a violation of international law.

Bush2 never met his own conditions (detailed in the "Authorization" bill he duped Congress into passing) before going into Iraq.

Bush2, Cheney and Rumsfeld will all look good in stripes, but Rice is going to need some new shoes.

14. you know what's so sad

is this administration saying Saddam was an evil man, but it appears, there more than willing to do business with evil men. How about one of their coalition of the willing? Is is Azbakistan (sp) who's leader boiled a political opponent to death, who suppresses his people? How about Pinochet, people like Kissinger were more than willing to endorse him--anyone who will go after their own people and put corporate concerns over their people. Of course, they also did business with Saddam, and are still doing business with SA, even though they have one of the worse human rights records.
