Bachelet Pays Homage to Allende

Santiago de Chile, Sep 11 (Prensa Latina) Chilean President Michelle Bachelet made heartfelt homage to the late dignitary Salvador Allende on the 33rd anniversary of his death ....

Bachelet placed red roses at the monument on the site in La Moneda where the body of the Chilean president was found, after .. the Pinochet coup on September 11, 1973.

Minutes before, President Bachelet led an ecumenical ceremony attended by members of the Executive, high-ranking officials, political leaders, and her relatives in the Palace of Government.

In her brief declarations to press she said that the best tribute to all those who fell fighting for democracy is to work for a fairer, human, more choesive and much more democratic country.
