The Young Turks Join Air America Radio (AAR's new schedule)

On September 18, The Young Turks -- Cenk Uygur, Ben Mankiewicz and Jill Pike -- will join the lineup at Air America Radio.

The "Turks," who were originally launched in 2002 on Sirius Satellite Radio, will air weekdays from 6-9 a.m. (ET) on the New York City-based liberal talk network. The show will also be video streamed via Limelight Networks at www.theyoungturks.com during those same hours.

The arrival of Uygyr, Mankiewicz and Pike will result in a substantial shuffle of AAR's current on air lineup, including a move of Jerry "Springer On The Radio" from the network to the company's Air America Syndication division.

Other hosts impacted by the changes include a move by Rachel Maddow to 6-8 p.m.; Sam Seder from nights to 9-noon; "Politically Direct" with David Bender moves from its weekend slot to 8-9 p.m.; and "EcoTalk" will air from 9-10 p.m. Peter Werbe will temporarily host 10 p.m.-midnight until a permanent host for that timeslot is named.

It's been a while since I've heard them, but last I did they were uninformed and annoying. I guess AAR will hire Lynne Samuels next since she's just slightly more annoying than the YT.

This is a dilemma. Stephanie is on locally, and while I realize I can stream Seder, it's hard to listen to two things at once. I like Bender on during prime time though.

I have to stream and I'm going to keep streaming Mama Steph at that hour. It's just a better way to begin the day than with Sam. I will miss Sam in the evening (and Malloy in late night) when I'm more prone to their outrage.

I, too, like the possibility of more Bender if he's going to get weekday shows. He's the closest they've come to Marty Kaplan.

Frankly, The Young Turks are just The Satellite Sisters with additional chromosomes. zzzzzzzzz

I am a Thom Hartman fan, as long as he is on in Seattle, I am at peace. I would love to have Ring of Fire on more, but I understand RFK jr. is busy with other pursuits.

I need something to get me up and going in the morning. Riley has been a SNOOZE and while I like Rachel and Kent, their stilted repetitive format (and the sound effects) were getting old. I hope they revamp for their evening show, as I do love them both.

13. I absolutely can not stand Mark Maron,

but I would take him in the proverbial New York minute over The Young Turks.

I used to hear them when I had Sirius - perhaps between now and then one of them has actually read something other than People magazine.

Malloy gets canned, and these idiots get hired.
