Bush Approval Rating Holds Steady At 39% In Gallup Poll
Tuesday September 12nd, 2006 / 18h15

NEW YORK -(Dow Jones)- Gallup's most recent poll shows the public's approval ratings of U.S. President George W. Bush and Congress have changed little, according to results released on The Gallup Poll's Web site Tuesday.

Bush's job approval rating held steady at 39%, in the poll conducted Sept. 7-10. His approval rating has averaged 39% over the last six Gallup polls, since early July.

The survey showed 29% of U.S. citizens approve of the way Congress is handling its job - a high point for the year. Congress' approval rating has averaged 26% over the year.

And, only 32% of those polled said they are satisfied with the way things are going in the country at present, according to Gallup. That is slightly higher than the average of 31% for the year.

1. Under the circumstances, I'm satisfied with that
Given all of the 9/11 hoopla and the ABC fantasy movie, we should thank our lucky stars that it's not higher.

5. 32% think things are going
swimmingly how does that translate into 39% approving? This makes no sense to me.

12. They're not crooked. Just not that competent.
Once you screw up the way you balance your data, you're really committed to it so that you can make historical comparisons with the data.

They publish all their data.

I did not not mean to imply anything more than that. :)

Their polls always seem to end up skewed in favor of the GOP, at least when balanced against other contemporary polls.

And so, when questioning why 39% are still giving him approval, one must, in my opinion, keep that in mind, and skew the numbers downward.

18. Gallup has exhibited a pronounced Repuke bias over the
recent past. I'd estimate they err in favor of Repukes by 5-6% consistently, which means most other polls have * at 32% approval, also not showing any movement.

19. I believe that a republican strategist said at the beginning of this slid
that Bush could burn down the White House and still get 30%. Due to the job creation it would create....

Considering the number of idiot neocons that I see as patients up here in Blue CT Im not shocked at 39%...
