CBC News

A mother recalled Friday leaping on top of her already wounded daughter amid a hail of gunfire Wednesday outside a downtown Montreal college.

"Poor kid, she's got a bruise on her face from where I hit her when I grabbed her head to get her down and get on top of her," Kathlene Dixon said Friday in an interview with the CBC as her recuperating daughter, 18-year-old Meaghan Hennegan, sat beside her.

The two were outside Dawson College when Kimveer Gill opened fire, and then turned his sights toward them.

At first, Hennegan said, she didn't realize she had been shot.

3. Yes, I would. And you, as well. I know it.
though we fathers would be more likely to charge the shooter...

4. It sounds like the mother made the right call
in this instance. If she had charged the shooter, the mother and daughter might both be dead.

5. It all comes down to your chosen means of survival.
The choice is between taking cover or attacking once the shit hits the fan.

I prefer avoidance due to awareness of the circumstances.

But sometimes that is not an option.

9. It all depends, Redstone.
My natural reaction is aggression, but I am definitely not into Death by Being Stupid.

If digging in gets the job done, so be it. But I would have been after the motherfucker as soon as he passed by or turned around. Guys with a carbine have no chance at close quarters.

12. Yes, indeed. The SECOND he turned his back. Carbine's too long
for him to turn around. But that mother didn't have such knowledge.

She did well.

Just a rhetorical question and your point well taken.
If I hear him say: "Give me the TOOLS".. once more...

He IS a TOOL. A Tool of everything chaotic and destructive..
And to all have stated he's just protecting his own rear end
from War Crimes Proescution...absolutely, positively agree 100%.
