Major State Union Switches To Lamont
Edited on Mon Sep-18-06 02:14 PM by flamingyouth
One of the state's largest labor unions has dropped its endorsement of U.S. Sen. Joseph I. Lieberman and switched its support to Democratic primary winner Ned Lamont.

The switch by Council 4 of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees gives Lamont his biggest boost from organized labor since the primary.

Sal Luciano, the executive director of Council 4, announced the endorsement Sunday, saying that the union wants to see a congressional delegation able to stand up to the Bush administration.

Interesting.

Don't know what it means, but interesting.

16. Lieberman actually is a weasel
The bankruptcy bill couldn't be stopped by a full vote of the Senate.

It needed a filibuster. Joe voted for cloture when the pukes needed to pick up (or off) at least 6 dem votes. That's where joe the weasel comes in.

Vote to bring the measure to the floor, where it will certainly pass, then vote against the measure when your vote really doesn't matter. Then tout your support for working families, all the while hoping no one noticed. Guess what, we noticed.

You see, we're on to "joe the weasel" and his day of reckoning is coming (election day).

10. Which means Lieberman will have a harder time with GOTV troops
Last time around Lieberman relied on paid volunteers and GOP GOTV troops. This time the GOP has too many races to cover to spare too many of their guys for Lieberman.

Now labor is going to GOTV for Lamont.

It's not like lieberman ever met a 'free' trade agreement he didn't like.
