Israel acknowledges that they hold these people and there have been prisoner releases numerous times before.

that claim to the best of my abilities, and have not found any substantiation that there were more than a handful of Lebanese in Israeli prisons, prior to the Israel's attack on Lebanon. Please provide citations to reputable sources that there are hundreds of Lebanese in Israeli prisons.

for the reference, but that has no bearing on my quest for current Lebanese prisoners. Israel left Lebanon in 2000, and as far as I can determine, those prisoners were released. You suggested that I start with that story, intimating that you knew of other references. Perhaps the others contain the information I'm seeking.

13. The prison population

is probably mostly Palestinian but they've held a fair number of Lebanese over the years. This latest conflict started when the new PM of Lebanon asked Israel to do a prisoner exchange to help bolster his new government. Instead, we've had a war and everyone is pretty much back to where they started. Too bad we had to destroy so many lives in the process.
