IRAN NUCLEAR: Ahmadinejad not invited to Bush dinner at U.N.
Edited on Tue Sep-19-06 03:52 PM by NVMojo
New York, 19 Sept. (AKI) - Iran's hardline president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, has not received an invitation to a dinner for world leaders given by United States president George W. Bush to mark the 61st summit of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, Ahmadinejad's spokesman, Hossein Elham stated. Ahmadinejad, an acerbic critic of U.S. foreign policy, last week challenged Bush to a debate at the UN General Assembly and in May wrote him a letter that went unanswered.

Could it be because Ahmadinejad and Hugo Chavez just signed oil drilling agreements???

30. That doofus would lose a debate with a bucket of pig slop.
Besides, what if his little debate machine failed on him?

3. What the fuck?
Why are these people taking this so personally? I understand that we are having some HUGE difficulties between our two nations right now, but why are Bush and Bloomberg being such dicks towards this guy? Wouldn't inviting him to dinner just be professional courtesy? Not that I would expect Bushco to understand that. Now that I remember who is in office, yeah, I guess it does make sense.

6. Yes, I don't
understand why * is shunning this guy so completely. For goodness sakes, why not invite him to Washington to the White House and have the appearance of a "negotiation" style sit down at least to make us look a little mature and not asshole warmongers.

I hate this little creep thug bastard who thinks his shit doesn't stink. He really is an immature, boorish bully isn't he?

20. No, this is what makes sense....
Georgie is 12..... years old, that is. Seriously. He's a case of arrested development. As such, everything he does, from that little "I'm gonna hold my breath if Congress doesn't give me what I want," tantrum in the rose Garden the other day, to his lack of basic MANNERS when dealing with other world leaders, is based on his emotional age.

Spoiled, petulant little brat, playing dress-up on the world stage. What a ridiculous fool! :silly:

8. That's just disgusting ...
As much as it may even be justified to despise "the man" it is ARROGANT to not invite the leaders of *all* sovereign countries.

I'm so embarrassed of this Criminal and Anti-Diplomatic Executive Branch Tin Gods. :(

18. did something similar occur
during Clinton's terms? Was there a dinner for all of the heads of state and was Iran invited? I think it couldn't hurt to open the dialogue with him even if you don't agree with his position on issues.

19. more here "Bush drinks to Iran leader's abstinence"
September 20, 2006
A BOTTLE of inexpensive red wine could be all that saves US President George W. Bush from a nasty face-to-face encounter at the UN with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

The two leaders - at odds over Iraq, Israel, Lebanon and Iran's nuclear program - are scheduled to speak just hours apart on the opening day of the annual UN General Assembly on Tuesday.

After delivering his address at 11.30am local time, Mr Bush plans to attend the traditional banquet for visiting presidents, princes and prime ministers. A total of 144 world leaders and their foreign ministers will gather for the feast, providing ample opportunity for unexpected diplomatic encounters. But Mr Ahmadinejad, Iran's devout Islamist leader, has told the UN he will not be attending the luncheon because alcohol is being served.

Arriving in New York from a Non-Aligned Movement summit in Cuba, he is scheduled to speak at the UN at 7pm local time. Mr Ahmadinejad made his debut on the world stage with a mystical speech at last year's General Assembly, later telling a cleric he felt an aura on him as he spoke.

Bush acts like a spoiled child that pouts when he doesn't get his way.

Bush is the real terrorist and the one who poses the greatest threat to the Republic.
