Train Derails; Evacuations Ordered (Crawford TX)

(September 19, 2006)—As many as 30 cars of a freight train derailed Tuesday evening at a crossing on Highway 185 in Crawford, and reports from the scene indicated that a pesticide was leaking from one derailed tank car.

One witness reported seeing 15 to 20 derailed cars, according to a broadcast report, and said he saw a white vapor escaping from one of them.

Residents within a one-half to one-mile radius were being evacuated Tuesday evening and traffic was being directed away from the area.

13. I sincerely hope nobody is injured by the pesticide

or any other consequences of the accident. But wow, I couldn't help thinking of this as God's way of fumigating the part of America that needs it the most.
