Slain woman’s children found dead at home (3 missing kids)

EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. | Three children missing since the body of their pregnant mother was discovered last week with the fetus cut from the womb have been found dead, authorities said Saturday.

The finding came hours after Tiffany Hall, 24, was charged and jailed on $5 million bond in the deaths of Jimella Tunstall, 23, and the fetus authorities think was cut from the dead woman’s womb after she was knocked unconscious.

The bodies of DeMond Tunstall, 7, Ivan Tunstall-Collins, 2, and Jinela Tunstall, 1, were found about 7 p.m. in Tunstall’s apartment at the John DeShields housing complex.

Police had been searching for the children since they found Tunstall dead last week in an East St. Louis lot. The three were last seen with Hall on Monday, three days before she was taken into custody.

1. Why on earth did they not check the victim's apartment until now?

According to another report, they suspected Hall after she had a funeral for the baby girl and admitted to her boyfriend that she had killed the mother.

It seems like that would have been the first place they went after the girl admitted to killing the mother, if for nothing else than clues into the original murder.

I can't even imagine what it would take to cause someone to snap and commit crimes like that.

they found the kids in a washer and dryer. I think they look around on another occasion but found nothing.

I looked but all of the articles I found had this report:

Authorities said a lead directed them to check the apartment, which had not been searched previously. They declined to elaborate.

conference at 7:00 here about finding the kids, Mom
was found on Thursday the kids tonight, Jeff report was on our 10:00 news on Saturday night. I'll go back and listen but I know they didn't find the kids until Saturday and Mom was found on thursday when the woman who killed her took them to the body.

East St. Louis Police Chief James Mister said Hall led police to the apartment. Police had been to that apartment Thursday evening, but did not know any children were missing, he said.

It bothers me so much I can't get over it. The whole story is so awful and horrible that I can barely believe it really happened.

I think the reason I tend to stick to political news over everything else is because I just can't take the local news anymore. Every time I read the local news I end up feeling very upset.

It's sad to hear when anyone dies, but killing babies on purpose, I can't take it. I lose sleep over it too.

they were acquaintances and the killer actually watched after the victims kids on occasion.

What is it with someone who is so perverse and void of any respect for human life that they would do something like this. This is among the greatest of human depravities.

Does this happen in other countries or is this something unique to the American experience??

this has happened a few other times that I can recall. There was a case about 10 years ago in Chicago and I also recall another case out west.
