Osama's Health Still A Mystery
Pakistan Says It Has No Information; U.S. Finger-Pointing Continues

(CBS News) Pakistan has no information on where Osama bin Laden is hiding or whether he is dead or alive, the Foreign Ministry said Monday.

"We have no information about his coordinates. We have no information whether he is dead or alive," Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Tasnim Aslam said at a weekly news conference in the Pakistani capital.

Aslam's comments came amid recent speculation about bin Laden's status following a report in a French regional newspaper over the weekend.

"Don't believe everything you hear on the news," Saudi ambassador to the United States Prince Turki al-Faisal told CBS News at the Saudi Day reception in Washington. "Osama Bin Laden is alive and well."

1. It's a mystery because information obtained by torture

is notoriously unreliable. He's been given everything from a kidney transplant to terminal halitosis by men who just wanted the pain to stop.

He's either long dead or in perfect health and lounging at poolside in some villa or other either in northern Pakistan or Saudi Arabia.

(The only illness that's seemed likely to my practiced eye is Marfan's syndrome, but he's exceeded the life expectancy for that one)
