5. good thing this was not a pot smoker, he would be 25 years for a

victim-less crime. This Enron Company along with other energy companies in Texas turned-off the electricity in California and people died. Dead, gone, forever not to return and this guy pleads guilty and agrees to do 10 years so his wife would only do 1 year of jail time so they would not lose there children, now he gets only 6 years of jail time. Beyond belief!

BTW: There was a transfer of 9 billion dollars from the California Tax payers to the corporations in Texas. I hope they do not spend it in one place.

Andrew Fastow, the former Enron Corp. executive who masterminded financial schemes that led to the company's stunning collapse, was sentenced to six years in prison Tuesday by a judge who felt he deserved leniency.

Fastow, the former chief financial officer who cooperated with prosecutors in other cases stemming from the energy giant's 2001 implosion, had agreed to serve a maximum 10-year term when he pleaded guilty in 2004. But the judge said he deserved a lighter sentence because Fastow has been persecuted after Enron's failure and that his family has suffered enough.

"Prosecution is necessary, but persecution was not," said U.S. District Judge Kenneth Hoyt. "These factors call for mercy."

Before the sentencing, Rod Jordan, chairman of the Severed Enron Employee Coalition, said some former Enron workers believe Fastow should be forgiven because unlike Skilling, he admitted his guilt and "is taking his medicine."
