Bush Raises $1.1M at Tenn. Luncheon MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -

President Bush had lunch in Tennessee Wednesday and raised $1.1 million for Republican Senate candidate Bob Corker.

The luncheon was the second time Bush has raised money for the GOP candidate in less than a month. About 450 donors paid $2,100 a plate to attend the fundraiser at the home of AutoZone Inc. founder J.R. "Pitt" Hyde and his wife, Barbara.

I have been a regular customer of them for years. They sell the low end of the replacement parts. But Consumer Reports rated their battery as the best and they do give lifetime warranty on their parts such as starters and alternators. I wouldn't reccomend the products they sell unless you are driving a real beater (as I am).

On Edit: The most impressive thing about Auto Zone was their early adoption of the mainframe back in the early 90s for warranty service.

4. Pitt Hyde might not be as big a local W supporter as Fred, a ranger or
some other elite W fundraiser: just think of the zillions of dollars in tax breaks, future tax breaks, and estate tax breaks that will inure to Pitt and Fred and their heirs, compliments of W. Who wouldn't sell their soul and sell out their country, this Republic, the Bill of Rights, except the 2nd Amendment, and much of the rest of the Constitution, the equal justice under the law and promote the general welfare doctrines, habeas corpus, the system of check and balances, the rule of law, international law and treaties. the separation of powers among the three main branches of government, the separation of church and state, the land of the free and home of the brave, the environment, and accept a corporatist theological totalitarians police-type state government and pre-emptive war(s) and torture when so much money, greed, and power are at stake?
