GDP revised down to 2.6% rate in the second quarter...

Here is proof that the economy is going nowhere but down.

I can't wait to see what the 3rd quarter numbers will look.

Remember, people vote with their pocketbooks.

1. Dropping fuel prices traditionally mean surplus, surplus energy
means SLOWING industry. Isn't slowing industry is the doormat to recession?

3. Fuel prices were still rising in the 2nd quarter...
Wait until the 3rd quarter numbers come out....I say the recession began over the last month or so...

4. Yes, that's sort of in line with my point. Slowing 2nd quarter
GDP would be consistent with a growing energy surplus in the 3rd quarter once it was not covered by summer vacation travel.

5. Numbers can look good or bad, but individual people have to live
in the reality that the numbers are supposed to reflect. If things are truly getting worse, then a larger number of individuals are feeling the squeeze, regardless of what the economists say. And I imagine people vote their individual wallets, not the abstract (and perhaps inaccurate) numbers.
