Albright criticizes Bush foreign policy in Middle East

LITTLE ROCK - Former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright said President Bush's foreign policy is "a mess" Wednesday and dismissed a recent miniseries that suggested the Clinton administration bungled a chance to kill Osama bin Laden as "patently false."

Albright said while focusing on the Middle East, the Bush administration has ignored other critical issues around the world.

"It's a mess," she said during an appearance before a crowd of about 1,200 at the Statehouse Convention Center. "In the Middle East, we are in a caldron of problems and ... we're not paying attention to the developments in Africa or Latin America or how to integrate China and India as world powers."

...

"All of a sudden, the argument became 'You have to be for us and what we're doing in Iraq,' and therefore fewer people could support what we were doing because they didn't agree with the Iraq angle of this and we lost international support," she said. "I am critical of the fact that what they have done is made it clear, don't argue with the United States because God is on our side. You've picked a fight with God."

1. I wonder
I wonder if "The Path to 9/11" finally convinced the Clinton staffers to start talking. (And Clinton himself, too.)

2. From Little Rock
I am visiting and Sec. Albright is still amazing. She hit me when she said that no place where the US is interested and involved in our foreign policy are we being successful. The facts are on our side, we just need to get the facts out there.

4. It IS a mess,
and Bush should be concentrating on critical issues AT HOME.
(Universal Health Care, anyone? Just for one example.)

I'm tired of the U.S. nosing in every other Country's business!
>"The Bush administration ignored other critical issues around the world."<
Sorry Honey, he's ignoring critical issues with his own people!
Fuck "integrating Countries as World Powers"!

This Administration needs to care of their own backyard first!
