PM Traffic Near LAX To Be Snarled By March
Hotel Employees To Show Support For Immigrant Workers

LOS ANGELES -- Hundreds of hotel employees and their supporters are expected to march on Century Boulevard near Los Angeles International Airport on Thursday afternoon in support of immigrant workers.

Organizers with the Unite Here union and the pro-immigrant We Are America Coalition hope that the demonstration will lead to higher wages and benefits for those workers.

Some 400 demonstrators said they would sit down on the street outside the Hilton and Westin hotels near the airport late Thursday. They'll be arrested in accordance with a gameplan worked out between organizers and the Los Angeles Police Department.

While the event is expected to be nonconfrontational, the impact on traffic around the airport will be highly disruptive.
