Abramoff Seeks Delay in Prison Term
September 28, 2006

MIAMI -- Disgraced lobbyist Jack Abramoff and a former business partner sought a second delay in starting their federal prison sentences for fraud involving the purchase of a gambling fleet.

The request, filed jointly by prosecutors and defense attorneys, said that Abramoff is continuing to cooperate in a Washington corruption investigation, and Adam Kidan is providing information about the murder of former SunCruz Casinos owner Konstantinos Boulis.

U.S. District Judge Paul Huck was to consider the request, which seeks a 90-day delay, on Thursday afternoon. Abramoff and Kidan are currently scheduled to surrender Oct. 2 to serve prison sentences of nearly six years. They pleaded guilty to charges of concocting a fake wire transfer to close the SunCruz deal.

Abramoff continues to meet in lengthy sessions with investigators and prosecutors in the corruption probe, including grand jury sessions, according to the motion for the delay.

"The government anticipates that Mr. Abramoff's cooperation will continue for some time," the legal papers said. "Incarceration of Mr. Abramoff at this time would significantly impede ongoing investigations in which his participation is critical."

Keep flapping your trap Jack. Whatever it takes to stay out of prison.

2. Is it because it's Yom Kippur?
I haven't had a chance to read the article, but I have a feeling that's the real reason.

4. Yom Kippur Is Over Tuesday
So I guess he can start his sentence the middle of next week. Let's say Wednesday at High Noon.

5. He should be executed
or disappeared off to some secret prison in a country that practices torture. Actually, that's not a bad idea: since torture is now legal, maybe Abramoff should be the first test case of legalized torture. Then we can find out who did what and when.

9. Let's disappear him after 07 Nov...
I want his name in every newspaper, above the fold, and mentioned on every TV and radio station in the nation. Heck, maybe we should encourage him to start campaigning for his congressional cronies. I would be tickled if he came out to California and stumped for Pombo (CA11) and Doolittle (CA4).

11. But I'll be surprised if he ever even goes to jail

"cooperation will continue for some time..." certainly until after the 2008 elections. I no longer have any confidence that it's anything but a charade.

Yep, the should Gitmo-ize him. Fear him up. Put some panties on his head and smear him with shit. Strip him, bend him over and leave him in his own waste. It's not torture. 9 out of 10 repubs think it's the Mercan way. Speed things up.

10. The DELAY is so that he can wait out the elections and get a PARDON
I mean, it would not look good for Blivet to pardon him NOW...but on 11/8, maybe.
