Al-Qaida No. 2 Calls Bush a Liar Last Edited: Friday, 29 Sep 2006, 3:28

CAIRO, Egypt -- Al-Qaida No. 2 Ayman al-Zawahri condemned President Bush in a video statement released Friday, calling him a failure and a liar.

"Why don't you tell them how many million citizens of America and its allies you intend to kill in search of the imaginary victory and in breathless pursuit of the mirage towards which you are driving your people's sons in order increase your profits?" al-Zawahri said in a portion of the video released by the Virginia-based IntelCenter.

The video was the latest to come from al-Zawahri since earlier this month. Al-Qaida released a string of videos for the anniversary of Sept. 11, showing increasingly sophisticated production techniques in a likely effort to demonstrate that it remains a powerful, confident force despite the U.S.-led war on terror.

what does Bush have to say about this?

Bush Says War Critics Embrace Propaganda

WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Bush asserted Friday that critics who claim the Iraq war has made America less safe embrace "the enemy's propaganda." He acknowledged setbacks in Afghanistan against a Taliban resurgence but predicted eventual victory.

"You do not create terrorism by fighting terrorism," he told a receptive military audience. "If that ever becomes the mind-set of the policymakers in Washington, it means we'll go back to the old days of waiting to be attacked - and then respond."

7. This is the #2 who is actually #1, since bin Laden's bin dead for years...
...bin Laden only still exists on video and audio tape.

Funny how none of the media ever question why this guy can make new, well produced video tapes every few weeks, but bin Laden is "still hiding in the caves, some where up in the mountains..."

DUBAI (Reuters) - Al Qaeda deputy leader Ayman al-Zawahri called President Bush a "lying failure" for saying progress had been made in the war on terror, according to a video posted on the Internet on Friday.

"Bush you are a lying failure and a charlatan. It has been three and-a-half years (since the arrests) ... What happened to us? We have gained more strength and we are more insistent on martyrdom," the Egyptian militant leader said.

Zawahri was referring to the arrest of al Qaeda figures such as Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the suspected mastermind of the September 11 attacks on the United States.

"Bush, oh failure and liar, why don't you be courageous for once and confront your people and tell them the truth about your losses in Iraq and Afghanistan," he said....

10. Thanks for posting this....
We could see it was reported by FOX, but it rings true. It sounds like something a nation who seeks revenge would say.

Our Democratic leaders should take this statement seriously and use it to our advantage.

Democrats should talk about PNAC and their RAD document and talk about how Al Qaeda preemptively attacked us on 9-11.

I wish someone (preferable a democratic leader) would take the reins and bring some sanity to our White House.

Coup ...Coup... Wouldn’t that be nice. Thailand’s military did it. Too bad Rummy owns ours. Democratic leaders are our only answer.

No thanks. The prospect of miitary rule is not doesn't do it for me.

Do agree that "Democratic leaders are our only answer." I would add that is with both a small and a capital "d".

12. And a great fight it is....a whole generation of American soldiers are
being blown away by ied's or shot by snipers in this fight on terrorism (2700 hundred dead, 20,000 wounded). Then we have the car bombs, the drive by shootings, the lack of medical and basic standard of living facilities, the secretarian killings that have claimed 100,000's of Iraqis (can you say CIVIL WAR). This is a one way fight, and only the blind and stupid cannot see that we are losing. Our soldiers aren't fighting anymore, in this one way fight they are targets for an enemy that knows the terrain, knows the urban tactics, and can kill indiscriminately because civilian losses do not matter.

We are not fighting terrorism. We stopped fighting terrorism when we backed out of Afghanistan to pursue this Iraq debacle. Rather, we have toppled a stable, albeit brutal regime and in it's place, left a power vaccuum for the Iranians and Al Qaeda to exploit.

In early 2002, we were on the hilltop overlooking the enemy. Today we find ourselves looking up at the enemy, knee deep in mud, and being picked off a little at a time. Thank you Mr. President, you IDIOT.

George ain't fighting terrorism - there WAS no terrorism in Iraq before George opened up all the borders.

Yeah, I know, Saddam was not a "nice" guy - but I'll bet if you counted all the corpses resulting from this Bush Administration,

He got Saddam beat by a long shot . .

Saddam had around 1 million in the military before Gulf War 1 -

With the slaughter on the Road of Death as American Nintendo pilots shot the Iraqis in their backs as they retreated from Kuwait - about 400,000 remained.

They US probly killed 100,000 or more in their shock and awe thingie, and then disbanded the whole lot . .

So from Saddam's military that knew the land, AND the language and customs of the people,

We now have a foreign force that is around 25% of what was needed to control the country, and they KNEW THE COUNTRY, its peoples, and its habits.

Gee

Wonder why the US is losing this one, eh?

I'm sorta just afeared that the US is setting up ICBMs and germ warfare sites in Iraq to take on the whole Asian Continent.

It wouldn't surprise me in the least

And that makes me worry . .
