Rasmussen Poll: Bush Approval 39%
September 30, 2006

The President's job approval among American adults fell a point
today to 39% making it the first drop below 40% since early August.
Fifty-eight percent (58%) disapprove of the way the President is
performing his job.

http://www.rasmussenreports.com/Bush_Job_Approval.htm

And with the Foley Scandal and the tidal wave of publicity the new
Woodward book is receiving, the fun has just begun.

This poll today shows an 11 point negative swing for Georgie. It
would seem that Karl Rove's 9-11 pandering had little staying power,
even for this notoriously Republican poll.

Sep 24 - 45% Approve 53% Disapprove
Sep 30 - 39% Approve 58% Disapprove

5. Very True
I just can't understand how his ratings stay in the 30's and 40's when they should be well below 20%.

7. I live and work around a lot of core supporters of Bush.
Many are just not open to any input. When the facts are place in front of them they just look at you like 'you're trying to trick me'. Watch some Fox news and that's what re-enforces them.

Oh... by the way. Rev Dobson said on Fox yesterday that only 2 Democrats voted for the Patriot Act. (only two voted against it).

anything goes on Fox.

16. If only two Dems had voted for
the Patriot Act ( now that's an Orwellian entitled act if ever there was one), this country would be in far better shape.

4. Strongly Approve is only 20%.
80% of the country is at least iffy about George. And 42% of that outright hate his guts.

Buy stock in Zantac, Maalox, Tumms.

6. Fun just begun?
I doubt it. I think 39% of the voters are just that stupid. They'll NEVER change their minds about Georgie. He could behead a baby on live TV and they'd still think he's the great Decider.

10. We have two parties.
The reality is that each party has an electoral base of 40%. Going into this election, Mr. Bush's approval will be no higher than 40% and his disapproval no lower than 55%.

With a two party system, we most certainly can gain the majorities in the House and popular vote. The Senate is another story, though it is looking more and more that we could get 51 seats.

8. The First Sentence Is A Load Of Horse MANURE!!
The President's job approval among American adults fell a point
today to 39% making it the first drop below 40% since early August.

OH WOW!!! Ya mean it's been 2 WHOLE MONTHS since it was below 40%? He was on some sort of a roll. For 2 ENTIRE MONTHS, only 60% of the country thought he SUCKED. That's quite an achievement.

I would be pretty excited if only 60% of my clients thought I was doing a horrible job on their taxes.

11. Are They Polling Hourly, Now?
Do they really think his ratings are going to improve by magic without making any kind of a change in a direction opposite to the one that brought him so low?

Am I running out of my life's allotment of question marks?

12. Just think if we had The Free Press that we enjoyed during Watergate?
Dear Leader and his crones would have been frog marched out of power IF we could have depended on the M$M to do their job. :grr:

Break up the media conglomerates will increase creativity, diversity and FREE EXPRESSION - commentaries.

I don't know if anyone gets the same impression - we have over 100 channels but it seems only about a half dozen variations / repetitions of similar themes.

15. I agree.
We have the same damn thing on 10 different channels. It's not diversity at all.

17. The RNC operates via blackmail and fear ...
They have more dirt on Representatives and Senators within their own Party (R) than that of the Opposition Party. However, they are making strides in closing the gap. The warrantless wiretapping had been focused on *all* of Dear Leaders political enemies. It's safe to say that almost everyone, save for perhaps Kucinich and Conyers, have been SILENCED in one way or another by a phone call or a visit from an RNC operative.

The Republican National Committee is very much like "The Mob" in that they RULE all sides by Fear, Black-Mail and Pay-offs.

The only way to counter this corruption may be to Vote in NEW BLOOD. That will take at least a decade and in order to work, the warantless wiretapping Executive power must be rescinded.

19. GOP has two goals - win by looking tough and cover our asses. Hence, the
torture law.

If this could take hold, it would ruin the GOP for a generation.
