Guardian:U.K. Paper Says Has Unseen 9/11 Video

A previously unseen video made by Mohammed Atta, ringleader of the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks on the United States, has been obtained by a Britain's The Sunday Times, the newspaper reported Saturday.

In editions available late Saturday, the paper said it had been handed the so-called martyrdom video, but did not reveal the source of the tape.

It reported that Atta was filmed reading a document marked in Arabic as a will as he sat beside fellow hijacker Zaid Jarrah - who seized control of United Airlines flight 93, which crashed into a field in Shanksville, Pa.

The newspaper said that a timecode stamp on the videotape indicated it had been recorded on January 18, 2000 and the recording was made at an al-Qaida training camp in Afghanistan.

someone who found it, an ex fbi agent who was walking his dog, knew the bushevikies would toss it down the 'memory hole' and outta frustration he sent it to the brits guardian newspaper, a leftist rag which would surely bring it to public attention....the bottle he put the video in took years to get to england, due to contrary tidal currents and the gulf stream acting up due to global warming....but fortunately someone found the bottle on the shore, read the message and delivered the tape to the guardian newsroom in time for the midterm congressionals!

Exclusive film of suicide pilots at Bin Laden’s HQ

FILM of the ringleader of the September 11 hijackers reading his “martyrdom” will inside Afghanistan at Osama Bin Laden’s headquarters has emerged five years after the Al-Qaeda outrage.

It is the first time that a videotape has appeared of Mohammed Atta — who flew an American Airlines plane into the north tower of the World Trade Center — at a training camp in Afghanistan. It fills in a significant gap in the timing of the build-up to the attacks on the United States.

Dates on the tape show Atta was filmed on January 18, 2000, together with Ziad Jarrah, the pilot of United Airlines flight 93, which crashed in Pennsylvania after the passengers apparently stormed the flight deck.

The Sunday Times has obtained a copy of the video through a previously tested channel. The tape has no soundtrack and a US source said lip readers had tried without success to decipher what was being said.

The high quality, unedited film shows Bin Laden addressing his followers at the mud-walled complex near Kandahar. One of the main figures in the September 11 plot, Ramzi Binalshibh, is identifiable in the crowd, as is a bodyguard whose task was to kill Bin Laden with two bullets to the head if he faced capture.

Dating on the tape indicates that the Al-Qaeda leader was filmed on January 8, 2000, 10 days before Atta and Jarrah recorded their wills.

Jarrah's (#16) travel at this time mirrored Atta's, flying from Hamburg to Istanbul and then on to Karachi in late 1999 ..

Jarrah (#16) returned to Hamburg in January and on 9 February 2000, reported that his passport had been lost. He received a visa from the US Embassy in Berlin in May 2000.

Atta (#1) returned to Hamburg in February 2000. In March, he sent e-mails to flight schools in Florida and Oklahoma asking about pilot training. Atta received a new Egyptian passport from the Egyptian consulate in Hamburg on 8 May 2000. On the 18th, he was issued a visa by the US Embassy in Berlin ..
